Explore MA Contemporary Creative Writing at Northeastern University London: 'Big Ideas, Short Forms: Online Creative Writing Workshop'

Tuesday, April 28, 2026 at 2:30 PM until 3:30 PMGMT Daylight Time UTC +01:00

Creative writing offers us the opportunity to depict, interact with, and artistically express some of the biggest contemporary issues affecting today's world: war, class divides, racism, AI, modern family dynamics or romantic relationships. But not all of us have the time or resources to put into the kind of epic creative project such large and multi-faceted topics might seem to require.

So this unusual and inclusive session will look at how we can take on 'big ideas' in short form: poetry, short stories, flash fiction. Come along to find out how to turn the big ideas that matter most to you into tiny works of art that reach out to others.

Hosted by Dr Claire Griffiths, Associate Professor of Creative Writing and Programme Lead for Northeastern University London's online MA Contemporary Creative Writing, this interactive session will also include an introduction to the programme, admissions guidance and ample time for Q&A. All are welcome!
